Affondato - Italian for "sunken" - carries the calm of a special stone formed through geological patience. The Boulder Opal brings the depth of a material that formed in fine cracks of a rock. Over unimaginably long periods, mineral deposits compressed there until this striking blue emerged in the dark stone.
The silver setting follows the natural growth of the stone. The interplay of the silver line and the dense, richly colored opal surface gives Affondato a calm, focused presence. A true Capolavori jewel that does not explain its origin but lets you feel it.

HOW DOES IT HOLD?
A fine arc behind the ear connects the upper ring with the gemstone and uses the natural shape of your ear shell for perfect hold. We have been working with this technique for over 27 years and can assure you: It holds! Once individually adjusted, the Earcuff sits comfortably and securely – all day long, without slipping.
MATERIAL
This Capolavori jewel is crafted by Nella using a tin-silver soldering technique. The base material of the setting consists of 100% certified, recycled 925 silver. Sterling silver is a light precious metal with a distinctive shine, made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. Slight oxidation is normal but can be easily removed by gentle polishing.
Our gold vermeil is not ordinary gilding: each piece is made from solid sterling silver and coated with a particularly thick layer of 18-carat gold. With proper care, the shine will last for many years.
